Medieval Village Generator
Parametric medieval houses, churches, mills and whole villages
Medieval Village Generator builds whole pre-modern settlements inside Blender: timber-framed houses along winding lanes, a church and a tavern on the square, a smithy, barns, market stalls, a well, a mill by the stream and a wall or palisade with gates around it all. Pick a village or a single building, then change anything. Every house is a parametric building that rebuilds live while you drag a slider.
It is not only English half-timber. Fourteen regional styles cover the old world: English Tudor and thatched cottages, German Fachwerk, French colombage, Mediterranean stone villages, Scandinavian log halls with sod roofs, Slavic izbas and onion-dome churches, Alpine chalets, Japanese minka and pagodas, Chinese courtyard houses, Middle Eastern mud brick, African rondavels, Celtic roundhouses and crooked storybook fantasy.
Villages grow from real settlement forms: organic lanes, a street village, a curving lane, a village green, crossroads, a planned grid, a ring around a central space or a scattered hamlet. Lanes, buildings and gardens follow the hills, a stream can wind through with a bridge and a working watermill, and density, size and defences are one slider or click away.
One click, a new building
Pick a design from the picture gallery in the Village tab of the sidebar. Tudor houses, thatched cottages, chalets, minka, churches and windmills appear in a moment.
16 villages from around the world
English villages, walled German market towns, Alsace lanes, Mediterranean hill towns, Nordic and Slavic settlements, Japanese and desert towns, African kraals, Celtic hillforts and fantasy towns.
Change the whole village live
Switch the layout, add a town wall, swap the regional style or raise the hills: lanes, houses, gardens and gates rebuild in a second or two.
31 parametric buildings
Every building is built from numbers and choices: walls, timber frames, roof form and covering, windows, doors, dormers, chimneys and colours. Change any of them on any house.
Randomize and Surprise Me
Randomize rolls a new house of the same kind; Surprise Me also picks a new style and building type. Endless variations for a whole town.

Questions
Which Blender versions are supported?
Blender 4.2 and newer. It is tested on Blender 4.2, 4.5 and 5.2 LTS.
Can I use the buildings in a game engine?
Yes. Every mesh has UVs and PBR materials with photo textures, origins sit on the ground, villages get their own collection, and Make LODs writes three levels of detail. Export with Blender's FBX or glTF exporter.
How big can a village get?
The Size slider sets the radius of the built area from 20 to 200 m. A 60 m village holds about 15 to 45 buildings, depending on layout and density. Place several villages side by side for bigger towns, and use Low detail for large scenes.
Can I edit one house of a village?
Yes. Select the house and press Edit as Building: it becomes its own building with every setting. Or press Convert to Mesh to keep the whole village as plain meshes and model on top.
Is it only European?
No. Besides English, German, French, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, Slavic and Alpine styles there are Japanese, Chinese, Middle Eastern, African, Celtic and fantasy styles, each with its own buildings, roofs and materials.
